The project involved strategic, tactical and operational aspects to support the logistics master plan. The objective ranged from reviewing the entire logistics network of the Brazilian operation to identifying restrictions and operational gaps, aiming to propose alternatives for optimizing the fleet, processes and the logistics model itself. It considered all tax issues and aimed to reduce operational costs, using simulation optimization techniques combined in an unprecedented way.

The casting and rolling segment demands a lot of energy consumption and requires optimized production. In this context, quickly detecting product quality flaws is essential as the defective product consumes energy until the end of the line and generates rework, passing through production again.
Based on the large amount of historical data available and captured by various sensors in the manufacturing park, predictive Machine Learning models began to monitor processes, quickly identifying product failures and their causes.
The impact was notable: the system identifies the origin of product anomalies, in addition to allowing greater understanding of cause and effect relationships in production lines.
